Kelly has been my coach for a little over a year now. In that time I’ve gone from having a regularly reoccurring issue with ITBS to never feeling a twinge of pain. As a pain free athlete I’ve dropped almost an hour off my Half Ironman personal best and PR’d every race she’s coached me through. I’ve gone from a middle of the pack athlete to just about in the front of the pack of a very stacked age group here in Houston. One of Kelly’s best qualities is that she has the innate ability to sense where an athlete’s breaking point is and schedule workouts in a manner that an athlete pushes their boundaries yet recovers enough to stay injury free.
Currently I’m training for my first Ironman at Ironman Texas. Kelly has worked my schedule so that I can fit 16 to 20 hours of training a week in without totally sacrificing time with my family and my newborn daughter.
I have been involved with athletics in some form or fashion since the age of 7 and I can honestly say that this year at the age of 35 has been the most productive and rewarding year of my athletic career.
